During the Foundation Stage most of the 'homework' will focus on reading, the development of basic number and speaking and listening skills. Parents are encouraged to enjoy a range of practical and fun activities at home to enhance children's learning.

In Key Stages 1 and 2, in addition to regular home reading, the children will be given a wide range of homework activities from number games to design technology projects. These activities will reflect work being carried out in school and will allow the children to develop and consolidate their knowledge and skills. As the children progress through the school the amount of time they are expected to spend on homework will increase to an average of around two and a half hours per week in Year 6 in preparation for their move to secondary school.

During Key Stage 2 there is greater emphasis on providing opportunities for children to develop the skills of learning independently and planning their time out of school to ensure homework activities are completed on time and to a high standard.

MOODLE is our virtual learning environment, providing extended opportunities for our pupils to enjoy learning from home. Homework may be posted on Moodle by class teachers, and when appropriate, pupils can upload their completed homework so that teachers can provide online marking and feedback. For a link to Moodle click on the 'M' or 'Moodle' logo on the school website homepage.
